On September 28th, Ottawa’s Shaw Centre came alive with excitement for the inaugural Best Places to Work Career and Training Expo—and Laurysen was in the heart of it all, showcasing our incredible career opportunities.
The event, presented by the Ottawa Business Journal in partnership with the Ottawa Board of Trade and WCG Employment Ontario, brought together the region’s top employers, post-secondary institutions, and economic development partners. For anyone looking to take their career to the next level, it was certainly an event not to be missed!
Team Laurysen
Our booth was staffed by three members of the Laurysen team, each bringing their unique expertise to the forefront. Wael Bakr, our Design Manager and CMKBD (Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer), Christine Paxton, our Human Resources Manager, and Majid Ahmadi, our Systems Engineering Lead, struck up conversations with visitors and readily answered questions.
Christine was enthusiastic about the event, saying, “We were thrilled to be part of the Best Places to Work Expo. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with so many talented individuals in Ottawa.” She added, “Laurysen is always on the lookout for exceptional talent to join our team, and the Expo was the perfect platform to showcase what makes Laurysen such a special and rewarding place to work.”
Visitors were treated to exclusive Laurysen swag, a copy of our latest Laurysen magazine, and a slideshow featuring our fabulous Ottawa kitchen and bath designs.
About the Expo
The Best Places to Work Expo featured over 70 exhibitors representing various industries, education and training organizations, offering attendees an excellent chance to network. Some were even lucky enough to receive a complimentary business portrait or to engage in one-on-one career mentoring sessions with local professionals.
Additionally, the main stage hosted presentations that provided valuable insights about hiring trends and the local job market.
